Future operations in Kronau will be run by the Interroll Kronau GmbH. Managing Directors of this company will be Michael Kuhn and Bernhard Kraus who keeps his position as Managing Director at Interroll Automation GmbH in Sinsheim/Germany. Affected by the purchase are about 40 employees of Ortner GmbH who will get the opportunity to join the Interroll Group.

The Interroll Portec Belt Curve which will be manufactured in Kronau is designed to offer high performance and trouble-free operation in various applications and can be used virtually anywhere, for small parcels in the CEP sector to baggage handling at the airport. The belt curve already ensures smooth and efficient operation and secure baggage handling at more than 80 percent of all airports in the United States, but also at international airports, in Beijing or Shanghai Pudong, for example. Interroll Portec solutions are also used in distribution centers and by courier and postal services, as well as in the area of e-commerce. Companies like DHL, FedEx, UPS and S.F. Express, for example, rely on these high-performance belt curves.
In 2013, Interroll expanded its global portfolio in the area of highly efficient belt curves and other conveyor solutions with the acquisition of the leading US manufacturer of belt curves, Portec, based in Cañon City, Colorado, USA. Today, Cañon City is the Global Center of Excellence for belt curve solutions within the Interroll Group.
